How Does the Roof Rejuvenation Coating Work on Asphalt Shingles?
Our rejuvenation treatment soaks into asphalt shingles and replenishes oils, helping dry, brittle shingles become flexible again. It does not form a film on top.
Asphalt shingles age because heat and ultraviolet light slowly dry out the asphalt. As they dry, they stiffen, crack and let go of their granules.
Treating the whole roof restores oils across the asphalt shingle surface, not just the slopes that look worst. That is why we treat edge to ridge.
Does Roof Rejuvenation Stop Granule Loss?
Roof rejuvenation slows granule loss by coating the shingles and helping hold the remaining granules in place, but it does not put back granules that are already gone.
Some granules in the gutter are normal on an aging roof. Bare, black patches where the asphalt shows through mean those shingles need attention sooner.
